An event app that builds communities

In 2022, I joined CitrusBits Inc. and embarked on my journey by designing Evenple, an event-organizing application that connects hosts and vendors in one platform. Initially launched exclusively for users in Africa, this was the first client project I led. As the project's scope expanded over time, I exceeded client expectations through innovative design strategies and branding solutions.

Today, thousands of users across Africa rely on Evenple to plan parties and events, fostering community connections and promoting local engagement.

Challenges

The Nigerian market is ripe for technological innovation, with its tech-savvy, youthful population, rapid economic growth, and unmet digitization across various industries. Entrepreneurs who can navigate this landscape stand to benefit from a market that eager to embrace new solutions. When startup company, Nayachi, approached us to create an ambitious app concept, we were excited to help them with a digital solution in this market.

Vision

To design and develop an event management app where anyone can create, explore, coordinate, and promote events — whether public or private, paid or free — but with a twist. They wanted to include a marketplace to connect event organizers with vendors, such as DJs, venues, caterers, and others necessary to make events a success — thus contributing to the local economy and helping people create livelihoods.
